 We would like to invite your club to join our Fourth Annual
"Thunder over the Coconino" Fly-In
SPONSORED BY EAA Chapter #856
Saturday, August 23, 2008; 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
$10.00 per plane (Includes entrance fee for Planes of Fame Museum) 
Grand Canyon Valle Airport, 40G (just 25 miles south of Grand Canyon!)
(Overnight accommodations are available at area hotels, motels, and campgrounds)
 
 
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Friday Night: Early arrival BBQ - Open to all @ $6.00 per person
 

Saturday (morning & afternoon):

"Thunder over the Coconino IV" Main Event
 * Pancake breakfast with a variety of other foods available throughout the event
* Fly-in with vintage aircraft, warbirds, homebuilts, experimentals, & general aviation
* Chili Cook-off and tasting
* Car Show
*Vintage Tractor Display
* EAA Young Eagles Flights
* Ford Tri-Motor, warbird & helicopter rides
* Planes of Fame Air Museum
* Vendors
 
Saturday (Night): Dinner & EAA Silent Auction
(By invitation only - contact us for more information)
* "Dinner in the Hangar" 
* Silent Auction benefiting EAA Young Eagles
 
Sunday: On your own
Ideas & Options in Grand Canyon Vicinity:
* Visit to Grand Canyon National Park (park entrance is approx 25 minutes from Valle Airport)
* Grand Canyon IMAX Movie (National Geographic Visitor Center, Tusayan) 
* Senic Flight over the Grand Canyon (airplane or helicopter) departs @ Grand Canyon Airport
 * Trip on Grand Canyon Railway from Williams to Grand Canyon Village
* Colorado River Float Trip
Please note that all above ideas are not included in the event, and are suggestions for your own enjoyment.  They each require separate fees.  Please call if we can help with arrangements.
 
 
 
Our goal is to make "Thunder over the Coconino" bigger and better each year, and your club participation would be a welcome addition to our 2008 event. Should you decide to join us, we will set aside a special area for you, giving event attendees the opportunity to view and photograph your aircraft, as well as visit with pilots and gain a greater appreciation of aviation.
