The Arizona Pilot’s Association (APA) was organized in 1978 to give Arizona’s general aviation community a voice in aviation matters. Our mission remains much the same today as we continue to promote general aviation through advocacy at various levels of state and federal government, as well as through partnering with other aviation organizations in advocating our common interests: promoting aviation safety, pilot education, and public understanding of general aviation; preserving, maintaining, and even re-opening Arizona’s backcountry and recreational airstrips; broadcasting Arizona aviation news; and connecting Arizona pilots through aviation events.

Join the APA to participate in and enjoy all the benefits of membership which include:

  • Providing scholarships for aviation students (Scholarships...)
  • Monitoring legislative action in Arizona
  • Safety events for the educational benefit (Calendar...)
  • Preservation of airports and airspace within Arizona
  • Encourage and participate in the reopening of backcountry airstrips (News...)
  • Backcountry Airstrip Information Pamphlets (Backcountry Airstrips...)
  • Social forums, meetings, weekend getaways, fly-in (both back country and paved), tours, education and training, static displays, seeing interesting planes and places, and interacting with enjoyable people (Calendar...)
  • Monthly e-newsletter with informative local articles, owner ads and updates about aviation (Newsletters...)
  • Opportunities to volunteer to help your fellow aviation enthusiasts
